I’m back at it. First off, Bruno Mars might be the catchiest song writer in the past couple years. Everything he sings on is well written, catchy and un-gimmicky. I remixed two of his songs already (Grenade and “Just the way you are”… or whatever its called) and I probably will do the next single that he comes out with.

But Enough about Bruno Mars. LOL.

Black Eyed Peas. What is there to say about them. They went from an underground rap group to being a pop sensation. Crazy. All you have to do is add a white chick, some autotune and some cool production. I got two of those so if there are any white thicks that wanna work on music we could be famous! just kidding. Adele has a beautiful voice. If I ever got to do a song with her I would probably crap myself. Okay not seriously but close…
Anyway making the music wasn’t difficult because the vocals are sooooo good. The hard part was the verse. I recently found a rapper called Childish Gambino. This dude is an actor, comedian, writer and an ill lyricist. Like SICK. So after listening to him wondering why he is so good I tried to mimic his style just cause I was really wow’ed. I spent a lot of time on it only to realize it was lackluster – and thats putting it lightly.

So I realized I was being silly and stopped trying to be something I wasn’t and wrote a verse that told the story my pen wanted to tell.

I was sitting around all day trying to figure out the topic to this song. The hook came pretty easy. But you could take something like this in so many directions. I though i could make a song that was a generic “you did me wrong” or “I did you wrong” with anger and nothing seemed right. When the right topic comes the lyrics just flow and I found myself forcing them. So I went to go play so Xbox. Watch a little TV. Made a sandwich and eventually I realized that I have something on my mind that fit the topic of this song pretty well. I’ll let you all figure out what I’m talking about but enjoy.

I can’t stop listening to this song. I can’t tell if its the story or the song itself – It just feels right. I came up with an interesting take on the infamous love story.  What if two people who loved each other could only be together for short periods of time through out life. Fate just played the cards that they couldn’t be together in the typical sense. Conversely, what if fate always made their paths cross over time.

But… what if that worked for them. What if these two people could go years without talking and somehow some way fate would make run into each other in Rome, at a basketball game or an infinite number of other places in the world and things would be just like they were when they left each other.  Love would be like no other and perfect – just couldn’t be forever.  What if their perfect life together is just broken into peices over their lives. What if this is their fairy tale?

Yes. I did another Katy Perry Song. Why? Cause I want to. Shut up. I actually heard this song months ago when her album first dropped and was surprised it wasn’t a single at the time.  I guess I just was impatient.

So I made this beat a few days ago and I just had no idea where to go with it. Usually I hear the music and the chorus just comes to me with ease. I had to play this for about 2 hours singing while making dinner, cleaning the house etc. It wasn’t until i just took a break and took a shower did I figure it out. Once I did I think it took about 10 minutes to write … But hey I think it turned out pretty cool. I realized that most of the songs I make don’t NEED a bridge – case and point this song.
The concept of the song was just a difficult as finding the melody. Anywho, the point of the song is that everyone goes through hardships. Some a lot worse than others, but then again everything is relative. We are meant to fail. We are meant to succeed. I think either way we can and need to find strength in the fight. And the times where we can stay complacent I think we should go out on the limb and shoot for the moon and if you fail you will end up amugnst the stars. Good luck down your roads…

I had this topic on my mind for a while but didn’t “feel” it until now. Basically I noticed how people have a hard time doing nothing. People appear to need to be constantly engaged. As soo and there is a pause in life they look to their phone to entertain them. I have found that I have done this on occasion. I just think sometimes we don’t slow down life or look away from our iPhones, Droids and Blackberries to smell the roses. Its a rough mix but I like the feel of the song. Hope you do.
